Who Facilitates the Bible Studies?

  • Facilitator

Jeff Thayer came as a retired lawyer to the Lakes Region in 2009. Between 2009 and present he worked for Walmart and then operated a small landscaping business in the community. In his youth, Jeff grew up in the Covenant Methodist Church outside Philadelphia, where he served as an acolyte and was confirmed. He attended The Hill School (Episcopalian founded in Pottstown, PA) where he attended daily chapel services, and focusing his studies there on American and European history. and religion. Jeff then headed north to Dartmouth College, graduating with an AB in History, as well as completing the Environmental Sciences Program requirements. In the 1990’s Jeff attended classes taught by Dr. Rocco Errico, an Aramaic scholar, and only daily pupil of Dr. George Lamsa, author of the Holy Bible translated from the ancient Peshitta manuscript.

  • Biblical Background

Since 1993, Jeff has devoted himself to lexicography, Bible translations and word meanings, beginning with extensive research into the Scriptures in the Aramaic, the language of Christ, Hebrew and Greek. It’s been a 30 year passion of his. Some of that research and links are given on the “Why Aramaic” page. Jeff has had significant public speaking experience and conducted Bible Studies in various presentations which in part were directed to the subject matters envisioned for BibletSudiesNH. His current research is the New Covenant, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of Truth, and what the book of Revelation may mean to believers in 2022. Much of that research is described on the FAQ and the READ ME pages of this website.

  • Author

In early 2022, Jeff began writing an historical novel “Call it Not Tyranny, But Providence” obout the Founding Fathers of America and their Christian beliefs. It is still in progress of completion. As he was writing, an inspiration from the Holy Spirit encouraged him to write a TRACT on the subject matter, which, at the time he believed would be 25-30 pages. Investing 12 hours a day compiling it and writing it, the TRACT grew to over 500 pages and was recently finished. During that same five month period, the Holy Spirit inspired Jeff to write “The Parables of John” as a historical fictional series which is described on the FAQ page, and in a more detailed manner on the READ ME page. All these Parables may be read in sequence there.

Format of Bible Studies

The “Parables of John” is a series of parables currently being written. Some are now available at the website at the “Read Me” button below. When finished, it will be collected into one continuous short book entitled the “Parables of John.” They are fictional in nature, and are set in the modern day. Each parable is intended as a sequence, chronicling a bible study of the Gospel of John, arising from conversations within a fortuitously formed group of college students. For those interested in BibleStudyNH’s format for those bible studies to be facilitated in 2022, this will reveal the method, and depth of how those will unfold.

Why Outside?

TWO REASONS. First, we are not certain how many people will be interested in attending. We are hopeful, but we just do not know. Second, and as important, the majority of the teachings revealed by Christ Jesus were in northern Galilee, and conducted outside in the “open air.” As well, many of His instructions were given within Parables, none of which had been heard before, and many of which involved “nature” in both a real and a “using of igures of speech” in order to convey the surface and hidden messages. (i.e. the Parable of the Sower).
