Spring 2024 Fly Fishing Workshop

We do not receive any form of remuneration or other endorsement credit for what is provided below. The complete workshop comprises 3 days on Saturdays to be announced. It will be filmed, in the event attendees have a schedule conflict.
Overview:
The workshops will begin at 9AM and end at 2PM with a one hour break for lunch. Attendees must provide for their own lunch and beverage. No alcohol is allowed.
introduction to the history of fly fishing, the basics, budget sensitive sources for equipment and some hands on training in dry conditions.

Optional Bible Study:
At the end of each day from 2PM-3PM a Bible Study will be offered for those who desire to attend. A list of brief topics is bring frafted
Preparation for the workshops:
This webpage is intended as an overview of what will be presented at the workshops. There are a number of videos, from some experts I have followed for years, and whom have a great respect for their expertise.
Those who would like to attend the workshops will be greatly benefited by watching all the videos below. Most of them are short and under 15 minutes. As an introduction, the videos cover many of the basics, and will enhance attendees’ understanding for what’s presented at the workshops.

DAY ONE:
Introduction to flyfishing: Equipment needed, not expensive, freshwater and salt water Sources of equipment: Waders, footwear, vests, flat cases, flies, rods, reels, types of lines (floating and sinking), leaders, line indicators, tippet rings, and weights.
Time of year: For type of fish, trout, landlocked salmon, bass and other freshwater fish.
Salt water fly fishing for striped bass and blue fish on the beach and from a boat.
