What Caused the Massive Crowds at the Great Awakening and Revivals in America in the 1750’s?

The Circuit Riders in the period of 1730-1800 entirely changed the course of American history in a manner never seen in human history other than the birth of Christ Jesus. Two Great Awakenings and revivals throughout the American colonies occured among the common people who were preached to by a group of largely uneducated men on horseback and in the open air. They were called the CIRCUIT RIDERS.

This post provides the massive turnout numbers these preachers drew spanning from 8,000-30,000 at a time, all in open-air settings. What wast he message which spread like a wildfire, that had not been heard before.? It is simple … and it was opposed by the leaders of the established churches from within the four walls of their church buildings. These preachers introduced them to a personal relationship Christ Jesus available to them through their rebirth in water and spirit, and into the kingdom of heaven. And, they revealed to them and introduction to the indwelling Holy Spirit of Truth’s presence to guide them … to comfort them … and to tell them the things to come.
